Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)
The University of New Mexico is currently accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) as of May, 2023. This accreditation decision indicates that the education preparation provider (EPP) and its programs meet rigorous standards set forth by the professional education community.
Initial Licensure Programs covered by CAEP Accreditation:
- Art Education BA & MA with Licensure
- Family and Child Studies BS: Early Childhood Multicultural Education with PreK to Grade 3 Licensure
- Elementary Education BSED & Graduate Alternative Licensure
- Physical Education BSED
- Secondary Education BSED/BAED & Graduate Alternative Licensure
- Special Education BSED, MA with Alternative Route to Licensure
Advanced Programs covered by CAEP Accreditation:
- Educational Leadership MA & EdSPC
The next CAEP reaccreditation visit will take place in Fall 2028.
